We like to keep in contact with our puppy buyers for the life of the dog. You will have to sign a contract stating
that on NO OCCASION an Ishmael Puppy will be dumped in a shelter should you not be able to continue owning the dog, and
that Ishmael will have first rights to buying back the puppy/dog no matter what the age. The price will be dependant
on age of dog and circumstances surrounding the reason the dog can no longer be owned by purchaser. You will also receive
$100 refund back on your purchase price upon sending me proof of spay/neuter from your local veterinarian. In return
I expect that the dog be kept on good quality food with at least 26% Protein content and meat as the first ingredient.
All puppies must also be kept on a regiment of abscorbic acid until they are finished growing (around 18 months). This
prevents hip dysplasia and has been proven to 2 vets who wrote "How to Have A Healthier Dog" and the following article that
appeared in Veterinary Medicine/Small Animal Clinician in October of 1976
"In large breeds of dogs, hip dysplasia, long considered an inherited birth defect, may be an easily controlled biochemical
condition. The lesion in hip dysplasia appears to be merely poor-quality, low-strength collagen in the affected ligaments,
caused by too little ascorbate for proper synthesis and maintenance of collagen. In eight litters from dysplastic German Shepard
parents or parents that had produced dysplastic offsprings, there were no signs of hip dysplasia when the bitches were given
mega doses of ascorbate during pregnancy and the pups were kept on a similar regimen until they reached young adulthood."
Ishmael has been praticing this since first operating in 1989 through to date. Without the abscorbic acid (Vitamin
C) you will void your guarantee against hip dysplasia as I fully believe it is an important vitamin due to inferiority
of the food we feed.
